The Role:
Are you a creative and technically skilled engineer ready to shape the future of shading and blind systems? We’re looking for a Design Engineer to join our dynamic team and lead the development of innovative products and manufacturing solutions. This is a hands-on role where your ideas will directly influence product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This exciting position is a full-time, on-site role in Warwick.
Key Objectives:
To execute engineering work at a high level of competence while continuously refining engineering processes and methods to support product innovation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading New Product Introduction from concept to production.
- Designing and developing mechanical systems and production equipment.
- Interpreting and working with architectural and engineering drawings.
- Conducting design of experiments and modelling system behaviour.
- Applying broad knowledge of manufacturing techniques to improve processes.
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Overseeing major engineering projects and feasibility studies.
- Driving improvements in Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly.
- Troubleshooting product performance and installation issues.
- Collaborating with Specification and Pitching teams to win new projects.
Person Specification:
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communicator with stakeholder management experience.
- A pragmatic problem solver with a meticulous approach to documentation.
- A team player who motivates others.
Experience:
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Expertise in Design for Manufacture and Assembly.
- Familiarity with modern manufacturing methods (CNC, additive, laser, robotics).
- Experience in mechanical system design and engineering development activities (FMEA, NPI, risk registers, etc.).
Location & Package:
- Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (40 hours a week), full time, permanent position, flexible working options are available.
- Based in our Warwick office, CV34 6TE
- £40k salary per annum depending on experience
